When I think about Florida, I think about the sand, sea, sky and some palm trees. Of course, all these are from what I have learned watching TV, reading books and talking to people who have been there. Another thing I know about it is that it is a retirement community where senior citizens enjoy the warm climate, which is more forgiving of their arthritis and rheumatism. It has great beaches, especially in panama city beach florida, which is a very popular destination of college students during spring break. So I guess this state is not only for the old but for young people also.
Imagine if there are moving companies Los Angeles that will take on jobs of moving from Seoul, Korea to Los Angeles, and then I know some people who would be glad of the service. This coming December, students who are going to participate in the Global Master’s Program, will be moving to the different parts of the United States for the second year of their studies. All the married students will be bringing their wives and kids along so I imagine the logistics of it all will be quite a nightmare. I am sure their wives would be very happy to hire moving companies if it were only possible. Most of the companies now are going global so why not moving companies as well?
Here in Korea, hiking is really a favourite exercise, especially of the older people. I am not really fond of any physical exertion but I am game to try some things so when I got invited to hike, I went for it. The first time was in one of the mountains here in Seoul while the second one was in Seoraksan. Both times, I was the last to reach the top. I really have a hard time going up. The more I walk, the faster I can hear my air intakes and my heart beating. I think it is because of my asthma that I have hard time breathing whenever I go on hikes and that is why I always lag behind. But despite the discomfort and lagging behind, I was able to reach the top and see the great views the mountains had to offer.
Summer is here once again. Unless I am on the beach, I do not think I like the summer season very much. Of course, I am still getting used to summer in July and August instead of March and April, like in the Philippines. It is so hot outside and climbing the hill to the dorm is really a sacrifice. If we did not need to save our money for the trip to Japan, I would have asked my friends to go to the East Sea and spend some days in a cottage near the beach. I wish I were one of those people who own Myrtle beach vacation rentals so that I can spend some part of the summer on the beach and when I get tired of the heat, I can have it rented and earn some money to travel to a colder place. It would be like having the best of both worlds.
One of my dreams is to own a beachfront property. Usually I can only go to the beach during summer for not more than three nights because that is all I can afford. I really enjoy lying on the sand at night with friends and talking and watching the stars shining very brightly with the sound of the waves lapping at the background. I guess I am not only the one with such a dream. A lot of people want to own summer homes near beaches or lakes that is why there is a market for such properties as Outer Banks homes. If I can afford it, I will buy one in a heartbeat.
We were at the airport lounge waiting for 12:00 noon to arrive so that we can go inside the departure area talking about medicines. Our Korean friend, who was also our guide during our Jeju trip was suffering from what we believed to be gastritis. We were feeling very concerned and tried to think about an appropriate medicine to buy for him. Deki, a Bhutanese friend was telling us about this antacid that was popular in her country to treat gastritis. We were comparing medicines when she suddenly said that she wished there were appetite suppressant pills so that she would not be tempted to eat so much. She was also concerned about losing the extra weight she had put on since coming to Korea. I told her that there were pills like that but I don’t think she was really that serious about it. I’m sure if she really wanted to, she could look it up in the internet.
It was winter when we arrived here in Seoul. After just a couple of days, we noticed that our skin became very dry and that the face and body lotions we brought cannot seem to do their work properly. So, Evi, who had been in Korea for a year already, brought us to a shop that sells skin care products. She pointed out a milk cream for our face. We bought and tried it out and it really worked. I even recommended it to the other international students who were complaining about their dry skin. However, now that summer is almost here, I stopped using. I will just resume using the cream come the fall or winter season.
My friends and I bought travel insurance for our trip to China. If it were up to me, I would not have thought about it. I guess I am not used to travelling abroad that is why I never thought about the need for insurance when travelling. However, one of my companions is a seasoned traveller and he always buys insurance when he travels, so I decided to get one also. I searched the web for insurance quotes then called the local travel agency where we bought our tickets, to check if they sell insurance and how much. It turned out that their rates did not differ significantly from those on the web, especially if you take into account the conversion rate fee charged by the credit card. Since I was going to the area where the agency was located, I decided to drop by their office and bought the insurance. Then, they emailed us our policy numbers and the link to the website where we can check our policy. Unfortunately, we cannot open the site even though we had filled out the required fields so we will have to call the agency to ask about it.
There are so many wonderful places to visit around the world. I guess my dream job is to become a professional tourist and get to see all the wonderful places, both the very well known tourist spots and those out of the way places that only very few people know about. While growing up, the only places I wanted to go to were the USA (surprise!), England, France and Switzerland because they were the only ones I heard a lot about. Now I realize that America is not only the Unite States of America. There are a lot of countries in South and Central America that have beautiful historical landmarks that are unique to their region. I think I will include an Argentina travel to my things to do list before I grow old. I want to see Buenos Aires, the national parks and the sea lions and elephant seals in their natural habitat. Another place I want to visit is Peru because I want to see the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu. I guess, I’ll never get rich because I will only save in order to spend it for travel. But, what wonderful experiences I will have.
Las Vegas seems to be a very popular destination for tourists. Among its many nicknames are The Entertainment Capital of the World and Sin City. It is a great place for shopping, fine dining, entertainment, and of course, gambling. People are like moths attracted to the beautiful lights of Vegas and the chance of striking it rich in the casinos. However, Vegas vacations are not just about trying your luck at the slot machines; it is also about experiencing first class entertainment and great shopping. There are also places for families to visit like the zoo and the parks. This makes Las Vegas a great vacation destination.
