Many companies are going paperless nowadays. Emails are utilized for sending memorandums and other communication and minimizing printing and storing of hard copies of the documents. These companies invest in docuware to keep track and organize documents efficiently through a personal computer. Documents become easily searchable with just one click. Tedious manual searching becomes a thing of the past and so are dusty files.
I find free converter online very useful. Before, when Windows Office did not have the capability to convert Word to PDF, I relied on free online converters to convert my Word documents to PDF. Our office did not have converter software installed so I would search the web for free converters. I usually do this when I need to send electronic files of letters, memos or minutes of meetings to our clients and colleagues. This is another example of how technology really makes life easier. I love technology.
I wish our division had a scanner software. It is very convenient to scan the documents then send them through email to our clients. Whenever I need a hard copy converted to an e-file, I have to ask a favor from an officemate in MIS because the scanner is attached to his computer. Although he is very accommodating, still I do not feel comfortable disturbing him all the time just to scan letters and forms needed to be emailed to our clients. I hope that next time we request for a scanner, it shall be granted.
I love listening to music. In the office, I wear earphones when I play the songs from my phone so that I would not disturb my colleagues, who may not share my taste in music. However, whenever I need to get up to photocopy documents or so some errands away from my desk, I find it inconvenient to do my errands and listen to the music at the same time. Moreover, the cord of the earphones gets in the way of my movements. It would be very convenient to have cordless headphones so that my movements would not be hampered and I can listen to music while doing other things simultaneously.
Computer games are becoming more and more sophisticated. From chunky frames, slimmer models have been developed. Moreover, even the controllers have been enhanced. For example, ps3 controllers have vibrating capabilities and are already wireless. I think the wireless capability of these controllers is a very good innovation because the player has a more flexibility in playing. This also minimizes the breakage of the main equipment due to overexcitement when the player pulls to hard and tumbles the console, not to mention the strain on the wires. Like all gadgets nowadays, the updating of video game consoles are fast making these more complex with more multimedia capabilities. Video game consoles have really come a long way from Family computers.

In train stations, ramps, elevators and some kind of device attached to the hand rails of stairs to carry persons using a wheel chair can be found. Now, there are even handicapped pool lifts so that differently abled persons can enjoy the water. All these things help the PWD to become more independent and to live life more fully.

It seems that such a device is usually used by athletes to optimize muscle potential before workout or competition. It can also be used as a massage to help muscles relax after an exhaustive workout or competition. I think there are also similar devices that are used to treat stroke victims to help them recover their motor skills
In this age of cyber technology, data backup is very important because your computer or even the whole system could crash without warning. I can remember my friend telling me how helpless she felt when the telephone she was holding accidentally fell on her laptop and complete destroyed it. All her files were lost. These were not just documents but treasured photographs as well. After that incident, she has become very conscientious in backing up her files.
