When I was drifting off to sleep last night, I thought about the perils of being a politician or a part of a politician’s family. My friend Heena half jokingly told us that she wanted to be the first lady and that was why I was thinking about politicians and the ups and downs of being one or being married to one. I guess the threat to a politician’s life would depend on the country or place he lives in and how high up he is on the hierarchy. In case of life insurance rates, are they considered high risks, like extreme sportsmen or are they just considered your average Joe? Considering how many people want to go into politics and how hard the incumbents fight to retain their positions, the benefits that accrue to their position must be very high indeed compared to the price they have to pay, maybe even higher than their lives? Because in some instances that is the cost they have to pay for power.
