We will be having our Sports Day on May 22, a Friday. All the students, faculty and staff are encouraged to join the one-whole day affair. I guess the school might have had trouble inviting students because administration office sent the email invitations a lot of times until eventually they included in their message a call for more MBA students to register for the Sports Day. Maybe the reason why few students heeded their call was that they sent out the invitations around reading week time when students were very busy studying for the final exams and doing their papers. I just hope that majority of the student body will join so that it will be more fun. I wish that whatever team I will go to will win so that we might get some sports gifts or prizes. Of course the prizes are not really important but they would not hurt either.
Stress can really bring on the pimples. My friends have been comparing how many and how big their pimples are because of sleepless nights and anxieties over the final examinations and term papers. When you think all these are behind you when you graduated from college, you decide to get a master’s degree, then all these experiences come back again. One of my friends has taken to trying different products for acne skin treatment in order for the pesky pimples to disappear, but to no avail. Maybe when we come back from a much needed spring break, their faces might be pimple free again.
My friends and I bought travel insurance for our trip to China. If it were up to me, I would not have thought about it. I guess I am not used to travelling abroad that is why I never thought about the need for insurance when travelling. However, one of my companions is a seasoned traveller and he always buys insurance when he travels, so I decided to get one also. I searched the web for insurance quotes then called the local travel agency where we bought our tickets, to check if they sell insurance and how much. It turned out that their rates did not differ significantly from those on the web, especially if you take into account the conversion rate fee charged by the credit card. Since I was going to the area where the agency was located, I decided to drop by their office and bought the insurance. Then, they emailed us our policy numbers and the link to the website where we can check our policy. Unfortunately, we cannot open the site even though we had filled out the required fields so we will have to call the agency to ask about it.
Living in the dormitory can be an adventure. Just imagine almost 40 girls sharing the use 2 shower and wash room cubicles. During the weekends when it is the cleaning lady’s days off, the shower and wash rooms become so dirty like a pigsty. The sinks are coloured cream so the dirt really shows, maybe if they change these to copper sinks then it dirt would not show so much. Then there are the shower stalls where people just leave behind their used cottons or sanitary napkin peelings. You wonder how some people can be so irresponsible when they are more than old enough to know better. Another nuisance that you expect in dormitory life is the sound of loud voices and running feet early in the morning or late at night. If it were not so cheap and convenient, then I would certainly not think twice about moving away.
