China has been in the headlines again with the Melamine in milk scare. It’s becoming a common occurrence to wake up to exposes regarding products from China. There was the White Rabbit candy incident (I was very fond of those chewy White Rabbits when I was a child.) then the baby toys and baby things from China that were recalled from the market because the paints used were harmful to babies. There was even a recall of tea light candles from China some years ago because they burned too brightly and were considered fire hazards. I also received an email warning about slippers made in China that cause very painful blisters. Not only that, there is an email going around about how cheap hair rubber bands from China are made from, of all thing, used condoms! How gross is that!
I really don’t know how true the emails are but with all the bad news you hear about China products you start to believe things. I guess it’s really the right time for us to patronize our own country’s products.
