In August 12, our office is scheduled to move to our new building. I believe that our management has hired a moving services company to help us bring our things to the new building. In order to make the process orderly, each of the offices are given a specific date to transfer. Unfortunately, we will not yet have internet connection in our new office because our network server will be one of the last to transfer. I hear that no telephone lines have been installed yet. We will be cut off from civilization while setting up there. I can only hope that before we move, everything will already be organized and settled to minimize stress of and tensions among the staff.
Our flight to Busan was at 3:35am. We were served breakfast at around 4:30am. We were offered the usual coffee or tea since juice was already served earlier. Wines, both red and white, were also available as well as beer and cola upon request. I am not overly fond of wine and considering the very early hour, I did not ask to try it. My officemate, who was my seatmate during the flight, tried the red wine. She said she tasted better. Maybe airline wine is like airline food, unappetizing. Maybe that brand would never be featured as wine of the month in magazines or fine dining restaurants but the airline administration sure thinks it s good enough for the economy section of their airline.
While preparing for this trip, I had to make time to shop for a luggage, some clothes, shoes and toiletries because my schedule was so hectic. I had to finish work in the office so that everything will run smoothly, or as smoothly as I can make it, while I attend two consecutive trainings. Then I also had to apply and get my visa, draft the pre-training report, attend the online classes and take the online test. I was really at my wit’s end on how to finish everything on time. I only got around to packing my things three hours before I had to leave for the airport.
Deciding on what to bring was hard because I am not used to estimating for 10-day travel. I’m used to just a little over five-day trips. I made a list of the things I needed to bring and the things I needed to buy. I was debating on whether to bring a swimsuit or not in case there was a swimming pool in the places where we would stay. There were swimsuits on sale at the department stores but at the last minute I decided against it. With all the necessary items I needed to buy and my limited finances, I decided that it would just be a luxury and not really a need. Besides, I will only get depressed looking at my figure when trying on swimwear. Hehe.
This was our breakfast last Tuesday. We only have two choices for breakfast, a Korean Restaurant and a Western style restaurant. The Western style restaurant is called The Brunch and it is just a small place. They usually serve different varieties of waffles, pancakes and some sandwiches. We always eat at The Brunch for breakfast for a change from the Korean or Chinese dishes we eatfor lunch or dinner.
Wristwatches used to be just for telling time. But overtime the wristwatch has evolved into a very useful gadget with a lot of features that the only thing it cannot do is predict the future. When I started wearing a watch, the only value-add on was that it be water resistant. Now, there are different kinds of watches, the cheap fashion watches sold everywhere, the luxurious and branded watches and of course, the heavy duty sports watches. These sports watches are the ones with all the state of the art technologies incorporated in it.
A good brand is Sector. Sector watches combine sleek beauty with functionality. It has all the gadgets that sports enthusiasts require without the bulky size. Aside from that, you can choose from the variety of models the watch that best fits your lifestyle.
This is the key to our room here in Busan, Korea. The reason why this post is very late is related to the key. I’m here in Busan for a a ten-day training and before I left the Philippines to come here I had to submit a report and attend online classes at a very short notice.
It is July once again. For some, once July hits they hit the stores to start early on their Christmas shopping. Here in the Philippines, Christmas carols are heard played on radios as early as September and stores start putting up Christmas decorations thereafter. Considering this, July is not very early to start shopping for gifts to give during Christmas and addressing Christmas invitations. Another thing to take into account is that for Filipinos Christmas is a time to give gifts. We give inexpensive trinkets for officemates, more expensive ones for special people like family and close friends, toys and whatnots for the numerous godchildren, and giveaways for the less fortunate who made your life easier that year, like the building guards, the staff at your neighborhood Laundromat, etc.
Some would say that Christmas is very commercialized already. It may be true but it is up to us to celebrate it the way it should be celebrated, giving thanks to God for the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Giving things during the Season Giving is just one way to show our appreciation to the people who touched our lives. There are also other things we can give like our time, energy and care.
Ever since, I always hear about women’s jewelry. Men give women jewelry as token of their love, to go with their apology, in exchange for a favor, and so on. My exposure to men’s jewelry consists of wedding rings, earring on one ear and the flashy gold necklaces with big pendant, a look associated with our countrymen who come from the Middle East or sometimes described as “Saudi look”.
But jewelry for men consist of more than those things. There are signet rings, bracelets, cuff links, tie clips and pins, money clip, etc. These are considered as accessories of a well-dressed man but they should be used tastefully and sparingly in order to look elegant and not tawdry.
Our family on my father’s side suffers from allergies like asthma and rhinitis. My father suffered from severe asthma attacks, which my brother inherited. My cousin and I suffer from allergic rhinitis. There are really days when my nose feels like a leaky faucet. Then it gets so red that I look like Rudolph’s replacement as Santa’s guide on a foggy Christmas night. Almost anything can trigger my rhinitis, from the change in weather, dust, to even the smell of newspaper. During this time, I have very hard time breathing.
I have read somewhere that a humidifier helps one breath easier. Air O Swiss humidifiers are ideal for people like me who suffer from allergies, asthma or those who suffer from sinus pressure. Breathing will be effortless again.
