(These pictures were taken at Corregidor Island. It is so sad to think that what was once a bustling town is now a ghost town with only tourists and caretakers keeping it alive. Not only that, seeing the devastation wreaked by the Second World War and thinking about all those lives that were lost. This was brought more closely home during the diorama inside the Malinta Tunnel. The drama enacted within brought to life the hardships and the tragedy that befell the soldiers, nurses, doctors and townspeople during the fall of Corregidor.)
